Skippy's adventure that I started on my first entry will continue on my next blog. I will give you a few of my observation on Campuestohan Highland Resort which is the latest attraction in Talisay City. We left Alijis for Campuestohan as early as 7 in the morning and arrived at roughly 9. If you do not have a transportation they have shuttle services from Lopue's East or you could take a jeep from Burgos Market to Alangilan and then take a tricycle to the resort. It is roughly a one and a half hour drive from Alijis, Bacolod considering that we went there on a monday where traffic is really unbearable being the first day of the week. We took the circumferential road to Lopue's East passing by the Bacolod Government Center, Sta. Fe Resort, San Miguel Brewery, USLS Eco Farm, Bantug Lake Ranch and paved our way to the resort through the Granada - Alangilan Route. While traversing the Granada route one could already feel a different atmosphere. Temperature changes from warm to pleasantly cold. Trees Covered the road from side to side.
A 150 peso entrance fee was charged every visitor. My 2 year old niece however, was free of charge. Our puppy was also welcomed and was not charged a cent. Free parking was offered to vehicles though and they have a huge parking space available. A lot of cottages were available so we were able to secure a convenient spot near the pool. We just got the umbrella hut for 500 pesos since the small cottage which is 600 pesos is somewhat far from the pool. The hut accommodated more than 10 persons. This however, is not possible if you plan to visit on a weekend. I have seen traces of plastic tables and chairs that they set up in a canopy to accommodate the influx of guests the previous day. I would advise especially those who plan to visit in big groups to book ahead of time.
We were not charged a fee for swimming and my children transferred from one pool to the other.
We were also not charged of corkage fees for the foods that we brought. The resort however, has a restaurant for their guests' convenience. Food carts are also available for the taking. There is a hotdog cart and an ice cream cart.
For those planning to stay overnight they have cottages like the log cabin that charges a thousand peso per person overnight, 5000 pesos for the Indian Village where rooms are designed as tee pee replicas and can house 5-6 guests, 6000 pesos for the King Kong room which looks like a big statue but has a room hidden at the back and the Bonita Huts where each room could accommodate 4 persons for 2500 pesos. Each room comes with a free breakfast.
You could engage in other activities aside from swimming, eating and doing selfies. They have a mini ranch with a live horse which I believe you could rent out. Unfortunately on the day that we visited, nobody is taking care of that ranch so my daughter was not able to do the horse back riding but just had a picture with the horse instead.
Other activities that you could engage on are zipline, hamster wheel, sky bicycle and rope course. My children tried some of the not so daring rides. They were allowed to walk on some of the courses for free.
For children they provided amenities like the mini park where the kids could swing and slide for free. They also have a grand carousel and mini train. They are charging 30 pesos per person for these rides. My kids were not able to enjoy the rides for the same reason that nobody is watching over that area when we visited.
Some structures are under construction and is already visible. The wave pool which is probably the first in the city is reason enough to visit again. A giant windmill is also in the making so I expect to see selfies on these part of the resort soon. Definitely, the resort is continuously upgrading its attractions so we will be looking forward for more. With a vast land area the owners have still a lot to fill.
We left the place at around 4:30 in the afternoon simply because the water seemed unbearably cold. Despite the afternoon heat of the sun the wind is generally cold so as the water in the pool leaving the children no choice but to shower and change to drier clothes. Weekday visit is not so crowded so I get to enjoy great family bonding time. Madamo guid nga salamat Campuestohan and until my next visit.
